The October 2001
Chiller Theatre Toy, Model & Film Expo
(Page Two)
In addition to the overall increase in model entries, I thought that there were
more non-figure kits out on display than ever before.
The
one BIG entry that caught my eye was a HUGE, scratch built Enterprise Shuttle Craft.
It probably measured between 2 and 3 feet in length. It was lighted (inside and
out), had a functional, two-piece door that opened and closed at regular
intervals and its interior was extensively detailed. There were room lights that
had been installed inside it, as well as a lighted console. Even the nacelles
were lit up. That was one extremely impressive piece!
One of the figures that caught my eye was a very morbid mortally wounded (or dead)
Batman Bust.
There were other impressively painted monster and figure models out on display as well.
There were a number of models entered in the Anime' category.
The junior category entries were also very nicely done.
The professional category looked very good as well, with quite a few models entered.
Also, there were some nice pieces entered in the art portion of the contest.
I took my usually healthy compliment of pics - (as you can tell) - much to the chagrin of my most
impatient son, and we headed out.
