Chiller Theatre's Fall 2006 Show
(Page Three - Vendor Room #1)
All in all I observed a noticeable decline in the number of
Model Garage Kits (GK) Vendors, along with a decline in the model kits that
were available at the show. Some of the vendors who usually sell them (like
Amok Time) were not doing so at this show. There were other GK Dealers who had fewer
kits out than usual.
In general, the overall numbers of GK Vendors appeared to be
down from previous Chiller Shows. (I have no idea if this is a sign of the
times, or an up-and-down trend that the industry periodically goes through.
Time will tell, I guess.)
Anyway, back to happy thoughts…One of the regular GK Vendors
at this show is Village Comics. They were once again in attendance, located in
the hallway, directly across from the first Vendor room.
Upon entering this room I ran into Ed and Sue Bowkley, of Diceman Creations.
Another notable GK and Model Dealers on hand here were Resin Crypt.
Also in attendance were Posthumous Productions, Alternative Images, Johnny’s Resin, and Pinkerton FX.
I located some really kewl looking slug-like creatures at P-FX, that would come in handy in my “Umber-Hulk” figure diorama scene that I would (eventually) be working on.
Chris Moser and the Resin and Mold Building folks from Smooth-On were also in attendance.
Upon locating Amok Time (and once again seeing that they had
absolutely NO GK figure kits out on display), I decided to place an order for
their newest Hulk figure (that they had out at this year’s Wonderfest Show.)
I was given a discount for kit, told that they would get me a
new head that would be released for figure (free of charge, when it comes out)
and was given free shipping to boot! (You can’t beat that!)
Claire and I headed around the room one last time before
heading out and up the stairs to see what else we could see.
