"ALL GOOD THINGS"

(Futuristic Enterprise Resin Conversion Set)

(Background)

Many, many moons ago after being inspired by the "Futuristic Enterprise" seen in the last Star Trek Next Generation episode, I purchased a resin conversion set.

This set was manufactured by Skyhook Models and is designed to be added to a regular AMT/Ertl Enterprise D kit.

Since this kit was purchased a good 10 - 15 years ago, I don't think it is still available. The kit ran between $20.00 and $35.00.

The two instruction sheets are found directly below.

The resin is pretty good, with no detectable bubbles. There was flash abundant, but nothing that would present difficulty in removing. The detail is a bit "harsh" but is acceptable, (to me at least). The resin is also quite smooth.

My advice to anyone who has this conversion kit and is planning on using it would be to replace the supplied resin nacelle with a regular plastic one from a second Enterprise kit. This would make painting it easier, along with having the third match up better with the first two. In addition, this would be the only way to go if lights are installed in the nacelles.
